best part of my day.

*the U2 360 stage*

Going through my pictures from the U2 concert in Oklahoma City on Sunday night. I have always wanted to see them in concert, it is something that was on my "life list" and it was AMAZING to say the least. Just incredible. So many of their songs mean so much to me.

*had to get a picture where i said 'yeah that's U2 in the background.' EIEIEIIAA*

It's been an eventful week and a half. First Chicago, then home for a few days, then off to OKC with friends to see U2 Sunday night. We stayed the night in OKC and tooled around the city with our friends who hadn't really been there before. We had a blast.

I'm still trying to get caught up from being gone, on top of starting to train for those little November races I have coming up, and I started teaching for fall semester this week as well. I've been loving October!

best part of my (yester)day.

No words needed. But I'll supply some anyway. Rachel and I running along Michigan Lake in Chicago. What a welcome back run from injury! Chicago was marvelous, lots to come on that.

oh my.

That is all I have to say about my life the past five weeks. To sum: Oh my. I'm trying to find the words to sum up, and not bore you to death, on the past five weeks. Putting it properly into words will be a feat. I have been busy, especially this week. Life has been... interesting. But the results, the results of the past five weeks are very good.

Saturday I'm leaving for the lovely and chilly and fabulous Chicago. I CAN. NOT. WAIT. The Robinson's are ready to get out of Wichita for awhile. I plan to eat myself into oblivion (thanks to rachel), drink homebrewed beer, tour the city (also thanks to rachel), volunteer at the marathon (again, all rachel), squeeze my baby cousin Brian's face (please note he is 27 and a medical student, then we will have a snowball fight and snuggle, he can't wait) and take a bajillion and three photos.

In other news. My foot is doing wonderfully. I get to go for my first official post stress fracture run in Chicago along Michigan Lake. Isn't that wonderful? In the meantime I am SORE, I've been working out like mad this week so I don't feel puny on vacation. It's the good kind of sore. I am feeling good interwebs. Emotionally spent, but physically, really well.

Until next week blahgesphere!

wanna know who won?

No messing around here. My legal team approved randomly generated name picker has chosen ELIZA! She won my fabulous marathon training kit. And how awesome is it that she's training for her first Marathon, which is in January!

Eliza, send me an email at fairweatherrunner@gmail.com with your address and I'll get everything mailed out to you. Congrats, and good luck on marathon No. 1, hopefully this will help.

And clearly I am not cut out for contests because my heart is all broken over the fact that I can't send this marathon training kit out to everyone. I want to let you ALL win this stuff. I'm too big of a softy for giveaways. Sigh.

shoes.

This week has been nuts. Hopefully I'll be able to sit down and post about it. But work has been crazy and either I've been sick this week and when not sick, swamped (coughahem watching new fall tv). I do want to throw out there that I received two more boxes of shoes. One box from RunnerMark in Topeka and another from Erin in California. You guys are fabulous, THANKS.

Also on the shoe front. The radio station and I are still working on a good concept for raising the shoes. It's down to either doing it with a local shoe store or hosting it at the Turkey Trot in November. We have some work ahead of us to get it figured out. Either way, all the shoes will now officially be shipped December 1. I know, the date keeps changing, but I want the opportunity to send as many as possible. So yes, you can still send shoes (or give me your when the entire blahgespehere and myself are in chicago in a few weeks). Either way, shoot me an email at fairweatherrunner@gmail.com.

I hope to post some pictures this weekend, which is also turning really busy. But I HOPE. Picturepalooza will have to wait until this weekend too.

Last reminder, you can enter my marathon kit contest tonight, and after that no mas! Because tomorrow afternoon I pick the winner. Who's excited kids. Happy Thursday.
