best part of my day...

Two words. Nutter Butters.

Seriously.

Thanks for all of your kind comments, it really does help! I'm feeling much better (mentally) and think I'm ready to be happy for ya'll and your running. Now I have about 200 posts to read and comment on. Sheesh. My foot is feeling better, I can put a little weight on it here and there. It isn't swollen in the mornings, just at night, I think that's a good sign. There is one specific spot that is really painful, still feels like someone is jabbing a knife into my foot.

I'm keeping the hope that this isn't a stress fracture, and that I'll still run a half marathon this year. If I can't run the Wichita Half (i'm starting to think the wichita half and I will simply NEVER get along). I want to go and kick my sister Kris' butt at a half marathon in L.A. I have a reputation to uphold. I may be the youngest kid in my family... but dang it if I am NOT the fastest! The battle of the Running Gibsons shall ensue. Not that we are competitive.... chirp.... chrip...

NICE!! I wish that my siblings ran, but they are not competitive so it would not even be a fight..

Nutter Butters huh? Never tried them. Have you ever had a Take 5 bar? HELLO HEAVEN! Pretzels, with carmel, peanut butter, all dipped in chocolate, YUMMY!! OK now I need one and it is only 7:46AM..

Hope the foot gets better.

I hear there is a hald Marathon in Seattle in late November...in case you are looking..

Ahh, nothing like some sibling rivalry to keep you motivated.

Fingers crossed that your foot is better QUICK. Til then, more nutter butters.

I am so with you on that one. This coming from the guy that had a peanut butter and honey sandwich for breakfast, dipped animal crackers in peanut butter for a morning snack, and just had a Reese's peanut butter cup...pb fa-reeeek!.
I'm tellin' ya, the KC half on Oct. 17th is calling your name...it won't disappoint and it's only a couple-hour jaunt down the road!

I am glad that the ankle is feeling better. :)

Glad you got the shoes. There were a pair of New balance in there that were my FIRST pair of running shoes, before I knew what I was doing, LOL. And then the green brooks were the pair of shoes I wore for my first (and only thus far) half marathon! Suck memories!

Man the foot thing...so sorry! Maybe you need to ignore that race for a year, perhaps is bad luck? yes I always find something to blame besides me for an injury :)

Aw, nutter butters! Why are you one of the few who never seems to let us down? I haven't had one of those things in years . . . but now I kind of can't wait to get injured so that I can reconnect with my old friend (HOLY EFFING KNOCK ON WOOD! I AM SO ONLY KIDDING! PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!)

Hope the hoof feels better soon!

Yikes! Sorry to hear about the issues you've been having. That sucks!! I was injured last year and I totally get the mood swings and being pissed at other runners. Oh, and of course the comfort eating. It all worked out though. I finally snapped out of it and started cross training like crazy because then I realized eventually I was going to be able to run again and I didnt' want to lug around 15 extra pounds. Ok, exaggeration - but you get my drift.

Keep your head up sister!
