best part of my day. and happy new year!

The below pictured is hands down my favorite neighborhood street to run down during the holiday season. I always get a bit sad when the Christmas lights come down and I have to go back to running the bland, un-decorated streets. I think people should leave the happiness of lights up year round! Just for the runners sake of course.

*this just seemed like an appropriate picture to use in closing out the year out on this hur blahg*

My 2010 wasn't perfect, what year is? Perfect is relative anyway. Even though I met my running goals, my running in 2010 was clearly far from what I had hoped, hello sparkly and dramatic ambulance exit from marathon No. 2! But there were some pretty amazing highlights, and some pretty spectacular 'little' moments that will be forever ingrained in my fluffy head. That's what life is to me anyway, those spectacular and beautiful unexpected moments that occur on any normal day. It's not always just the 'big' stuff, in fact it's rarely the big stuff for me...

Cheers to 2011 blahgesphere! As an early celebration, I just ate an entire bag of sour skittles. At 10a. And that makes up spectacular little moment No. 251in 2010, just needed to share. Now onto moment No. 252. Cleaning up the cat vomit in my hallway, so beautiful.... so touching... We know how to really ring in the New Year 'round here.

Oooooooh nice sparkly Christmas lights. I'd love for some of my running paths to remains festively lit all year round, so I'm with ya on that one. Cheers to a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year :)

I feel really, really dumb, but I am staring at that pic like a Magic Eye book, and I just can't see the street! It looks like abstract art to me (pretty, though). Am I the only one with this problem?

Happy New Year!
