shoe drive and quasimodo update...

I have had a few questions about the shoe drive, and the answer is YES you can still send me your shoes. Absolutely. I was going to go through mid-August with it, but I think I'll extend it through September because I hope to take a box to the Wichita Half Marathon and collect old shoes there. So my shoe drive sure is still a kickin' and later this week I'll have an update of the shoes that are still steadily coming my way. I have some major props to throw out, especially to those who sent their marathon shoes!

Well quasimodo decided we aren't running today. He is especially vicious today. I'm hoping that he calms down by tomorrow so I can get all my runs in for the week. He is ooozing anger. And I mean that literally. I'm pretty sure a few of the warts are already vanished because the skin is entirely gone where they were. And if you are thinking it sounds gross and painful, you are right my friends. But thanks to Ace and Kristen the Running Lawyer, I 'ran' eight miles yesterday. Not too shabby (and by ran, I mean Kristen ran seven hilly ones just for quasi and Ace ran one for me). Thanks guys, I don't feel like a slacker now!

I was going to go to a runners group weight training session at the Y tonight with my personal trainer, but I'm going to skip and do Yoga at home instead because my foot is too swollen to be comfortable in my running shoes. I'm really hoping I'll be ready to do my early morning four-miler with the girls tomorrow morning. Here's another little tidbit... in the past four months, whenever I would talk about being a running slacker or how I didn't run for awhile... it was usually because I had wart treatments. And couldn't, and realized at the time NO ONE in the world wide web would care about my stupid warts. Clearly in the past few months I've gotten over that. These things have taken over my life. In addition, I'm sitting here in total disbelief that I am actually writing about my warts.

WARTS!

I do feel bad for all that pain and missed running time Mr. Quasifoot is causing you. So I'm donating all 5 1/2 of the hard hilly miles I put in this evening...you may claim them as your own. Enjoy!

Aw, girl. I feel for you . . . that is seriously not fun. Can I donate the 7.25-mile interval workout I completed last night to you? It's gotta be good for a little extra speediness :) I really hope the warts ease up soon so you can get some good runs in!

Oh, and I realized that I never told you--nor did I put a note in the box--BUUUUT, when you receive a box from Bailey Ertel at Linklaters, that's me! (I really wanted to put a clever note in there, but a) I'm not clever, and b) I sent it on my last day at work and the FedEx man was GLARING at me, threatening to leave our office--there was no time!)

Sorry it took forever and a day for me to get those out! But seriously? YAY for the shoe drive. Have I mentioned lately that you're basically the best thing since beef?

Quasimodo book-version winds up dead so I'm predicting a similar result for the wart-version...

I bet the warts are a direct result of the parasites. ;)

So Running Lawyer finally approved my long lost comment on her blog... thought you would get a chuckle so here you go..

Hmmmm 5 weeks since your last post of Bloggy Communication? I have devised a list of reasons why my Bloggy buddy the "Running Lawyer" has not blogged, nor dropped comments on her bloggy friend's pages:

1. She fell down a well and is yelling...but no one can hear her.

2. She is lead Lawyer on a Top Secret Case and her internet use would put the case at risk.

3. She travelled to far away lands where using the computer is forbidden.

4. She is running miles and miles across the USA like Forrest Gump. (If that is the case please contact someone who can Blog about your progress)

5. Aliens (enough said)

6. She lost the use of her fingers in a freak Slurpee accident.

7. Her extreme blisters caused a rare condition with amnesia as a side effect, she has no idea that she was once a Blogger.

8. She is Prego??? Hmmm I think I will start that Rumor around Bloggy land.

9. She has a life...

10. She no longer likes the Bloggy world or her Bloggy friends (SAD!!)

If any of the above have happened I am TRULY sorry :) You are missed!! FYI FWR hooked me up with your Facebook info so I can pester you until you give up... Your Bloggy strike can come to an end any day, I have loads of topics if you need one to get you going...

With love :)
